Blessing Day

Sunday, June 3, 1012

Earlier this month Josh had the opportunity to bless our baby girl. It was such a beautiful day. Thanks to everyone who helped to make it special, those who were able to come and those who sent their love <3

We carried on some old traditions and started some of our own. First, Ainsley's blessing gown, overlay, and cap were made by my mother for her first child. Me and all of my siblings, as well as all of the grandchildren, were blessed in it. My mom has embroidered each name into the hem of the lining. My mom also made Ainsley's slippers from left over silk from my wedding gown. Josh and I gave Ainsley a freshwater pearl bracelet to wear. There is an extension chain so she can wear the bracelet again when she is baptized, and then we can incorporate it somehow into her wedding day (bouquet charm perhaps?)....we have many years to think about that! We have a bit of pink fever over here, so I couldn't help adding a bright pink ribbon to her bracelet :-) She also had a white scalloped receiving blanket, crocheted with a dash of pink, made by her Nana (mom Duffy), and a white shawl made by Oma (grandma Sigie). So much love!

Here are some pictures of the day:

(Note: The Slade Family drove out from Arizona, but apparently we were all having too much fun with the kiddos to take any pictures before they had to leave! Thanks again for coming out, we love you!)
