so after a crazy saturday of running errands and party/celebrations i came home to a ......CLEAN apartment! my amazing husband had cleaned the apartment while i was gone! And he even remembered the little things like the toaster over, microwave, and cabinents. I am the type of person that likes to do everything myself because i have a particular way i like it done. but josh has been GREAT with picking up on those "little" things and i've learned that if its clean its clean, it doesn't matter so much the way it got that way (most of the time). well as the week has gone by the apartment has gotten a little messier each day. most of it is my mess. So tonight i just couldn't take it anymore. i decided to do a little ten minute tidy and found myself an hour later scrubbing the kitchen sink. once i get going it sure is hard to stop. but i'm happy i did. now i can wake up in the morning and feel good and then come home from work and be able to relaxc and do more enjoyable things, like finish making my valentine's decorations (i willl post pictures!).
work has been quite interesting! we have lots of fun little "bugs" going around. the first is your typical congestion and cough with a sore throat...i'm battling it now. the second is a tummy bug which even if i had it i wouldn't know how to distinguish it from "china tummy" so....and the last one i'm crossing my fingers and washing my hands constantly so i dont get it... PINK EYE!!!! Tuesday one little boy (the one whose back i was rubbing at nap time) woke up with one eye swollen and sealed shut. yay. he went home early. then today another little boy came in with a gooby eye, but that wasn't enough to actually send him home (in my book it was) after keep a distant eye on him it was red enough to call him mom. we shall see what tomorrow brings!
Last but not least the pigeon food. so we have cute little birds that like to come and nibble on the kids' left overs from lunch and snack. this one little boy cole laughs hysterically when they swoop down. Lately, however, we have attracted pigeons!!!!!! not so cute. it was my job the other day to "feed" them alka-seltzer. apparently it makes them blow up. we shall see if it gets rid of our pesky winged foes.

Here is my list..
Okay, so I don't put a whole lot of faith in my New Years Resolutions because lets face it, I usually don't even make it the first week. So I've reevaluated a bit and I'm simplifying to make my goals a little more attainable. And I figure if I post it on here I might be more likely to do them. We shall see!
1. Read scriptures before my eyes are so blurry with sleepiness that I can't see. (before watching tv)
2. Say my prayers before then, and in the morning before I take a 40 min shower.
3. Go to the temple before we have everyone we know over for dinner. (at least once a month)
4. Prepare my lessons and activities with more "meat" and less "garnishes" (It really doesn't matter if I left the tablecloth at our apartment, the lesson will go on!)
5. Do some kind of fitness activity for 1 hour 4 days a week. (And it doesn't have to be running at a 6.5 inclination going 7.5 mph to count)
6. Have dessert on the day of the occasion, not the week before and the week after. (golden spoon is not dessert)
7. Make a grocery list with a weeks worth of grub. (So I don't have to go every day like I do now!)
8. Be more patient (with Josh, the kids at school, the drivers on the road......)
9. Be more forgiving. (this one goes hand in hand with patience. If I forgive people more easily I can be more patient with them.
10. Master the art of crock pot cooking!!! (mostly just so we will actually eat dinner. I want to establish this one now)
Some might be a little too ambitious...but I'm feeling confident.

New Years
A bit delayed! But happy new year to all! I am at the cabin right now and loving every minute of it. The thing I love most about the cabin is that while I'm here the "outside world" disappears. I love going home to california, but the tasks I left at our apartment in arizona still linger in my mind and disrupt my sleep at night. But up at the cabin I do something I never thought I could do.....sleep in past 6:00 in the morning! New Year's Eve I fell asleep aroun 8:30pm and woke up around 9:00 am the next morning. It felt amazing! New years day we had a suprise birthday party for Bob Evans. That was so much fun and went very late...but no worries because I can sleep in ;-) Today was errand running day. The boys went to the grocery store and came home with sleds!!! They are adorable! Two classic red ones and one big plastic bobsled looking one! I can't wait to try them out! I have never been sledding before!!! Then Natalie, Robert (her awesome boyfriend), and I went to Provo- the BYU book store, both apartments to pay bills (always a fun thing!) and then a sporting goods store too fill in the gaps of our snow wardrobe. I came out with a stylin blue beanie and some hot looking pink snow boots! They were the cheapest ones (I wonder why!). I was amazed though...I fit into a kids size five! I would have never believed it. I'm a little concerned my feet are shrinking. Not just a little bit, but a significant amount. At one point when I was in middle school I was an 8 1/2 in womens. Something is up! Anyways. Tomorrow is the day I am REALLY looking forward to. We are going snowmobiling! I've always wanted to go but growing up with a Personal Injuries and Wrongful Death Attorney as my father.....I haven't even seen one up close! It will be a glorious day! I shall report back with plenty of "catch up" pictures!
